Radio Hanoi Platoon

By VVAW

[Printer-Friendly Version]

Radio Hanoi, the main radio station of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, commented favorably on the U.S. film "Platoon." Which is about U.S. soldiers in the Vietnam War.

"The film depicts U.S. soldiers' crimes during the Vietnam War," Radio Hanoi said, "but it also relets the ideological struggle between the good and evil of the American GI who was still conscientious and humane." It points out that the film is very popular in the U.S. and has received eight Academy Award nomination including one for best picture. The film was written and directed by Vietnam War veteran Oliver Stone. (From the Peoples' Daily World)
