<< 26. Sgt. Israel Garcia Leaves Afghanistan (poem)28. Interview with Richard Stacewicz >>

Strife & Life (poem)

By Horace Coleman

[Printer-Friendly Version]

Soldier momma's in Iraq.
Athlete son's home in L.A.
Neither is danger's stranger.
Both are watchful prey in
the war zones where they play.
One will sleep for ever
at the end of this day.
A group defending its turf
turns blood into red surf.
Death's random breathe blew
on the one who was the son.
