The Profound Truth Is In Your Face (poem)

By Mike Hastie

One of the last experiences I had before leaving
Viet Nam, was to unzip two body bags that had
two American soldiers inside who had shot them-
selves in the head, because that was what the
United States Government was doing to itself as
a result of the unfathomable Lies of the Viet Nam
War. This history will repeat itself in Iran, because
World Empires have no wisdom. Most people in
the United States will not believe what I have just
written, because whenever the truth threatens
one's core belief system, there is an urgent need
to deny its reality. That Is Why History repeats itself.
