Ambushed Again (poem)
By Ken Sauvage
[Printer-Friendly Version]
Ambushed again,
over and over again,
like Bill Murray in the movie Ground Hog Day,
for almost 48 years.
Bullet punch of grief,
tightness in my chest
like a collapsed lung.
The grief we couldn’t,
or didn’t know how to express,
except as more acts of violence,
now stagger me, randomly, abruptly
at the most surprising times.
