Decomposed Granite (poem)

By John Crandell

[Printer-Friendly Version]

Whatever happened to that
    Tomb of The Unknown
Soldier of Vietnam War
    American born
Is it still there?
    And long since emptied
Well, gol darn ~ if so
    Let's go dig up Lyndon
Unearth that corpse of his
    Blast that headstoned
Boulder all to smithereens
And transport him in a B-52
And drop him into that
    Emptied sarcophagus
Hell, why not Mac as well?
    Brothers ~ arm in arm
Arlington knowns, forever

John Crandell
