Another Anti-War Poem (poem)

By Roger Forkel

War can be likened to standing next
To a person with bad gas
in an elevator.
It will erupt sooner or later.
And the smell will eventually hit your nose.
But the stench of war just grows and grows.

At least in an elevator
You can hold your breath.
But you cannot do that on a battlefield
Because war is death, war is death.

Eventually the elevator door will open
And you can leave and get some fresh air But on the field of battle
The dead are just lying there
Stinking in the Sun.
And the elevator of war
Makes another run,makes another run.
