Jobs For Vets

By VVAW

Brothers, there are thousands of jobs and millions of dollars for jobs available under the Emergency Employment Act. This money is for public service type jobs and is available through your local Man Power Center, usually located in your mayor's office. The Veterans Employment Service (at the state employment center where you pick up the unemployment check) should have information on these jobs.

The Emergency Employment Act guidelines state that one third of the jobs should go to Vietnam Era Veterans. There are a lot of people who will rip you off for the jobs that are rightfully yours- demand that one third of the jobs go to Vietnam Vets.

A presidential order requires that a Federal contractor must list all job openings for Veterans for forty-eight hours. This means you have first crack at jobs.

See the Veteran's employment representatives at the employment center for listing and to put your job requirement on the listing.

Contact your regional or state coordinator for further information.
