Fall Antiwar Activities

August 6-9: *Commemoration of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Meetings, demonstrations, actions of various kinds will be held across the country. Underlines racist nature of U.S. War Policy.

August 14: First VVAW convoy to Cairo, Illinois. 1st week in Sept: NWRO anti-FAP (Federal Anti-Poverty) actions. This will involve mass direct actions.

September 16: (Mexican Independence Day) Antiwar actions projected by the Raza workshop.

October 13: *National Moratorium Day. The aim is to cease business as usual on this day in order to bring about an end to the war. The Moratorium actions will take place in as many communities as possible, in such forms as are agreed upon by the Local Peace Action Committees.

October 25: (Veterans Day) Veterans Mobilization "will involve mass direct actions, non-violent civil disobedience"

October 26- Nov. 6: Local Constituency Actions.

November 6: *Massive antiwar demonstrations in the streets in the following major regional centers: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, and in Washington D.C.

*United Actions of the whole movement against the war.
