CID Seeks VVAW Support

The American people are becoming more aware that the war in Indochina is not fought according to "The Rules of Land Warfare," or any other established rules. That is why our continuing Winter Soldier Investigations are so important. The administration realizes this, and they have started a nationwide investigation into the charges that we have made in WSI's across the country.

Having once been part of The Green Machine we know that the armed forces are not going to investigate themselves thoroughly or fairly. The intelligence branches of all services and in some cases the FBI, are contacting vets all over the country who have testified to war crimes. They are asking them to give complete written testimonies, including names of all people involved in any of the incidents described. In some cases they are using threats of reactivation to try and force the brothers to cooperate.

Our lawyers, William Kunstler and Peter Weiss, have advised us not to give the CID, Naval Intelligence, etc., any information whatsoever. We urge you to follow this advice. We do not want to scapegoat any more individuals. If the grunts are going to be prosecuted for obeying orders, the people who gave those orders should also be prosecuted.

It is extremely important that anyone who has been contacted send us a letter with a complete description of the contact, including the names of the agents and what they asked.

The Winter Soldier Investigations are an important part of the work we are doing, so it's important that they continue with the harassment of the government. If you provide us with the details requested, we can take appropriate action against them.
