The War Toy Song (poem)

By Dennis Kroll

[Printer-Friendly Version]

I don't want my sons to play with guns,
And I don't want your daughters to patch him up;
I don't want those war toys on your shelves;
Send it all to Washington and build another wall.

Hey mister, that's no toy to buy your boy
M-16's with ammo clips won't bring him any joy;
And don't buy your son that GI Joe,
If there's another Vietnam would you want him to go?

And when your son goes out to play
With his toy grenade;
Tell him young men who played for real,
Aren't marching in anyone's parades.
