Letters written to Barry Romo from Chicago Students

By VVAW

[Printer-Friendly Version]

Mr. Romo,

Thanks for coming and telling our class your experiences with the war. I found them very interesting. I was thinking of joining the Marines but after you said Full Metal Jacket was a realistic view of boot camp I rented it to see it and it scared my to think how demoralizing it was to be there and listen to what they said. Now I'm giving college a chance.

Brian

Mr. Romo,

Thank you very much for coming to our classroom and sharing your thoughts and views, and understanding of the Vietnam War. It's always enjoyable to have a speakers shoes view that were very well liked. Maybe to other people your not but what we felt from your speech was amazing.

Thank you again,
Kathy

Dear Mr. Romo,

I enjoyed your presentation. You cleared up some things that I was unclear about, and told the truth about what happen in Vietnam.

Sincerely,
Yumni J.

Dear Mr. Romo,

I like your presentation. I learned a lot about the Vietnam. And you told the truth about the Vietnam. I thank you for coming in our classroom.

Sincerely
Manuel

Dear Mr. Romo,

You're speech was very stimulating. I never knew that the U.S. could be so cruel. But I believe that the war was wrong just as you do. In the movies they show the war so easy, well they are wrong.

Sincerely, Tina
