Beware of the RCP: Cult Uses VVAW Name

By VVAW

[Printer-Friendly Version]

As VVAW prepares for a full calendar of national, regional and local activities, we must issue our usual disclaimer. A bunch calling itself "VVAW-AI" are not us, do not represent us, have nothing to do with us.

While we are loathe to give them anymore press, we must point out the deceitful nature of their activities which have, in the past, led to some confusion in various parts of the country.

"VVAW-AI" is in no way an organization. To quote from an open letter put out by the NY/NJ Coordinating committee of VVAW: "VVAW-AI is not a faction, caucus, or par tof VVAW. It is not affiliated with us in any way. 'VVAW-AI' is actually the creation of the Revolutionary Communist Party, an ultra-left sect whose main activities appear to be to pump up the rhetorical level and disrupt any organization or movement they get involved in and to create provocations and violent confrontations at demonstrations whenever possible."

Without exception, "VVAW-AI" is a couple of Vietnam vets from the New York and New Jersey area and anyone else who will wear their gear (almost always non-veterans) to gain publicity.

If you see these creeps somewhere, don't dignify them by paying any attention to them. Tell your friends that these pathetic individuals (VVAW-AI) are petty, programmed frauds.

If you have questions, let us know what and we'll do whatever necessary to answer them.
