Agent Orange: Class Action Suit Alive

By VVAW

[Printer-Friendly Version]

Contrary to the belief coming from the media stories, the class action suit against chemical manufacturers of Agent Orange is alive and well. In February, 1982, Judge Pratt handed down all his pre-trial orders for the trial. He set the date—June, 1983. That's when vets get their chance to rake these corporate scumbags over the coals for what they've done in the name of profit. VVAW says make them pay, and pay big!

Every Vietnam veteran in this country is a member of the class in this action. Our biggest problem is notification of the class before the trial stars in June, 1983.

So, don't be discouraged. The suit against the corporations is still alive and well. Once the court decides that the chemical companies are responsible for poisoning us, then we must sue on state levels. That is where many of us will have our problems because of statute of limitation laws.

As veterans we can't just lay back and expect the lawyers and the courts to do justice in this case. We must fight the case too, and there's a lot you can do. For further information, contact the VVAW chapter nearest you.
