Celebration of Victory

By VVAW

[Printer-Friendly Version]

On Sunday, May 18th, a celebration was held in Montreal, Quebec marking the birthday of Ho Chi Minh and the victory of the liberation of Vietnam. John Sampson, a member of the New York City VVAW/WSO chapter attended the celebration as the representative of the organization.

The international festivity was marked by great spirit and joy as the Vietnamese delegates from the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam talked about the successes being made in the process of national reconciliation. The Vietnamese thanked the American people who aided them in their long struggle for freedom and independence. The celebration ended with great applause and a firm commitment to deepen unity between the Vietnamese and American people.
