Snitch Invades VVAW/WSO

Another tool of the state was exposed when Mary Jo Cook, a member of VVAW/WSO in Buffalo, admitted that she had been an FBI informant. Thorough her activities in VVAW/WSO she had become involved with the Attica Defense and reported on their plans to the FBI. (Government infiltration of the defense is one more basis for appeal in the case just concluded, and for declaring a mis-trial in the case not being tried).

Mary Jo was sent into VVAW/WSO by the FBI and paid up to $400 a month. As a representative of the chapter she attended national meetings and conferences, in the US and Canada. Within the organization, she created dissension through rumor-mongering and turning disagreements and struggle into division, under FBI instructions. Her confession provides one more warning about what slimey tactics the US government will stoop to in order to try slowing down the struggle against imperialist system.
